What is TOPSoccer?

TOPSoccer is an outreach program of Greater Arlington Soccer Club (GASC) and the US Youth Soccer Association, Inc.  It is a community based training and team participation program for young athletes with physical, intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities.

TOPSoccer is a modified version of the game of soccer, designed to provide opportunities for our special needs athletes to enjoy the game.  Modifications to the game allow full participation and enjoyment to each young athlete. Our goal is to enable children with disabilities to develop their physical fitness, technical skills, courage, self esteem and social skills in a recreational, relaxed approach to the game of soccer in a safe and fun environment.  We are dedicated to giving these children the same opportunity to play soccer through games and activities adapted in ways that will ensure each player learns at his/her own ability.  To address the special needs of these athletes, each player will have a volunteer "Soccer Buddy" to assist them at practices and games.

Our program will run on Sundays beginning May 23, 2010 to July 18, 2010 from 3pm-5pm, with the exception of Memorial and Fourth of July weekend. There are NO FEES for parents or children, but a parent-legal guardian must be present for practices and games.  Practices and games will be held at Ed Austin Regional Park located at 11751 McCormick Rd, Jacksonville, FL  32225.
